why did nabisco stop making ideal cookies?

I have never tasted anything remotely like the Ideal bars. I sent the link to this page to Nabisco today. Nabisco, if these wonderful cookies are too expensive to make and sell in a package of cookies, how about packaging them as candy bars? i.ve been looking for those ideal bars everywhere.when i was younger i used to babysit i took my money and go to the store and buey ideal bars and eat the whole package they were so good.i wish they would bring them back!!!!!!!!!! It's a shame they don't listen to the loyal consumers (as this blog demonstrates)and make that investment into bringing back such a popular item. Does anyone remember another cookie at that same time that had chocolate, caramel, and covered with nuts? As a kid in the 60's, nothing was better than some Ideal Peanut Butter Logs and a glass of really cold milk. The world needs Ideal Bar cookies now more than ever! I still check the cookie isle at the grocery store hoping to see these again. I have tried to find something similar, but no way can anything else compare. I immediatly thought about Ideal cookies for the first time in many years, looked on Google and found this site. Get them home intact, if possible, refrigerate or freeze, get a glass of ice cold milk, or fresh brewed tea, and eat, a little touch of Heaven! I miss those doggone ideal bars!!!! My dad used to get at least to boxes of these one for himself and another for the kids. We were just talking about how much we miss them and want them back!! I believe Nabisco stopped manufacturing Ideal Bars because the chocolate the recipe called for was too costly to make. Years ago I contacted Nabisco about bringing them back but was told that would never happen. The Best cookie EVER! I used to sell Nabisco cookies, and Ideal bars were a great seasonal item, just like Mallomars and Pinwheels. I have thought of these cookies so many times over the years. It's a shame, and the list is rather long best cookie that I remember from my childhood have tried to find them for years without success used to sneak into my dads stash because they were so good have called and wrote a letter to Nabisco or rather Kraft and am waiting for an answer as to why that they cant bring them back it is so nice to know that I am not alone comforting to know that someone else knows exactly what cookie was so great in the 70's. I was hoping someone who bakes would create the recipe and share it. I would sneak one or two every once in a while. If we get enough attention it will spread like wildfire. Ideal is a legend in its own time. When you think of dark sandwich-like cookies with a creamy white center, you probably think of Oreos, in part because Nabisco is so good at marketing. The best cookie of the 60s and 70s. They are not spell checked or reviewed for accuracy. Best cookie ever made!! I snuck them down and proceded to eat every single one of them in that brown, orange, and see- through wrapper. The Ideal bar was more of a candy and Reeses sticks are more of a cookie. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK NABISCO. These were my favorite cookies as a child and I also kept them in the fridge!! Please, oh please, bring them back. Maybe if everyone emails Nabisco, they'll bring our favorite cookie back. Always will be!! It seemed to make the enjoyment last longer. I have never stopped thinking about those cookies. I could sit and eat a whole box when I was a kid. I LOVED these exact cookies too. Pilot bread has since been discontinued. I recall that from late 60's to late 70's my mom would buy the cheap "kiddie" cookies for us, and Ideal Peanut Butter Bars for herself, which she would keep in the fridge. And it didnt help that that there was an existing Hydrox Chemical Company on the market, one that sold hydrogen peroxide and was caught up in a trademark lawsuit at the time over the use of the word hydroxa lawsuit that noted the term was used for coolers, for soda, even for brands of ice cream. We need to all call Nabisco! If you all really want to do something about it, go to the Nabisco website. Very upset when it was discontinued. I'm 51 years old now, and my only fear is that if Nabisco ever introduces this cookie again, I would promptly buy a couple of packages of them, pour a nice glass of cold milk, eat through the first package, and probably a few of the second. He was amazed that I knew what he was asking. Please bring them back! I used to love Ideal Bars: there was a certain salty sweet inside "crunch", and the way the outside chocolate used to melt, so you had to eat it faster, especially in the summer! They said they quit making these because they'd melt in transit, but they make chocolate covered cookies everyday. Please bring them back!!!! Nabisco Giggles cookies were introduced in the 1980s, and they were only sold for about a decade. I moved from Cali to Texas in 1980, Texas didn't have anybummer. My grandmother used to always have Ideal cookies in her cabinet when she lived in Arizona. I loved these when I was a little girl. My favorite cookie ever! Go figure! I don't buy cookies or pudding any more, but I would buy Ideal Bars and Spoon Candyso would many baby boomers. Finally I returned home with the Ideal cookies after eating my final bite so that the perfect amout was found by my Mom. I love Ideal cookies!!! My all time favorite cookie! An Ideal Bar was better than a Snickers or any candy bar, and it was a cookie!!! I can not remember the name. BRING THEM BACK, NABISCO. The cookie took a long time to eat, but it didn't last a long time at the grocery store. Once Nabisco had removed the lard, mainly for health reasons, going kosher became possible.
